"Honestly, I was a little embarrassed to know how little prepared I am should an emergency occur. But, I am also grateful to have taken this workshop. It is broken down into simple, achievable steps and I plan to check all of them off my list so I can feel confident in the future."

"Melissa gave such an engaging and energetic presentation at our seminar. After speaking with many attendees, she was by far their favorite speaker of the day. It was obvious how knowledgeable she was regarding emergency preparedness and everything digital photos! We all learned so much. I went home and got right to work on creating our video home inventory."

"This workshop was very informative, with a real life feel. Although we all hope this will never happen to us the reality is that it absolutely could and being prepared is the best case scenario. Please continue to bring this to our community, what a value."
The Story Behind This Workshop
Colorado's devastating Marshall Fire was just miles from my home and we witnessed firsthand the heartbreaking loss so many families endured. On top of losing everything, many didn’t have the documentation they needed for insurance claims—adding stress to an already unimaginable situation.
In an effort to help as many people as possible avoid the same fate, I created a Quick Home Inventory Class, using skills I was already teaching through my photo organization business. Through a simple process, I showed people how to create a record of their belongings using pictures and video and then organize it in the cloud for safekeeping.
What began as one class has grown into a series of emergency preparedness classes and workshops I now teach online and in the community—because with extreme weather on the rise, we are all at risk and would benefit from taking a few simple steps to protect what matters most!
