Scan Imp Docs & Send as PDF Right from Your Phone!

Have you ever needed to quickly send an important document to your doctor, lawyer, realtor, employer or child's school? 

In just a few clicks, you can scan a single page, group of pages, insurance card, driver's license or any other important document and send as a PDF right from your phone! 

Directions for iPhone/Apple Users:

1. Open the Notes App from your phone (it looks like a yellow notepad)

2. Click the icon in the bottom right corner of your screen to create a new note

3. Click the paper clip icon

4. Click "Scan Documents" 

5. Make sure your document is in view of the camera

6. Depending on the mode your camera is in, it may scan the document automatically. If not, click the shutter button

7. If you have more than one page, scan all documents

8. Then tap "Save" 

9. Click the share icon (square with arrow pointing up) at the top of your screen 

10. Add your recipient and decide how you want to share your PDF (text, email, etc...) 

11. Your document will be sent as a PDF

Directions for Android/Google Photos Users: 

1. Open the Google Drive app 

2. In the bottom right, tap Add (plus sign)

3. Tap "Scan document" 

4. Make sure your document is on a dark, hard surface (table or desk) and place it in view of the camera

5. Depending on the mode your camera is in, it may scan the document automatically. If not, click the shutter button

6. Add a "Name" for this document and then tap "Save"

7. At the top of your screen you will see a box that says "Search in Drive"

8. Type in the name of your newly scanned document 

9. Open the document and click the 3 dots in the top right corner

10. Select "Share" from the menu and add your recipient

11. Click the blue arrow above the keyboard and it will be sent

If you have even TWO minutes today, practice scanning something... even just junk mail and send it to yourself just to see how quick and easy this really is! This is a great skill to have in your back pocket for when you really need it!
